Meet the Family Behind Cookstove Queen

I’m Sarah, the founder of SCC Holdings | Cookstove Queen. I was homeschooled and raised in my family’s hearth business, where I started helping with the company at just eight years old. Working alongside my family taught me the value of practical knowledge, personal service, and taking the time to help people find the right product for their home.

Today, my husband, Joush, and I are carrying that tradition forward with our own family. We homeschool our sons and teach them the business through hands-on experience. They help me with filming and social media, bringing their creativity to Cookstove Queen while learning what it takes to build and run a business.

Joush has worked in the hearth business for the past four years and brings extensive technical knowledge of chimneys, cookstoves, and boiler systems. His technical experience complements my broad background across the hearth industry, including fireplaces, furnaces, boilers, cookstoves, and wood stoves, as well as electric, pellet, and gas products.

Alongside my experience in the family business, I graduated with honors from the University of Montana with a degree in finance. Since 2015, I’ve been filming hearth-product videos to help customers understand how products work, compare their options, and feel more confident in their decisions. Having my family involved in that work makes it even more meaningful.

In 2021, I purchased the rights to the North American safety certifications for ABC Products, Guliver, and North wood cookstoves. Through SCC Holdings, I hold the exclusive North American distribution rights for these brands. I initially sold through a small network of dealers, and I’m now expanding Cookstove Queen to offer wood cookstoves and other specialized heating products directly to the public.

We’re also developing a subscription-based cooking club, where we’ll share recipes, cooking videos, and the everyday experience of preparing meals with a wood cookstove.

For our family, Cookstove Queen is a way to bring together the knowledge I grew up with, the skills we’ve developed, and the lessons we’re passing on to our sons. We look forward to helping your family find the warmth, comfort, and cooking traditions that make a house feel like home.
