The ABC Concept 2 Max Hydro takes wood-fired cooking beyond the kitchen. 🔥💧 This European-designed appliance combines a cooktop, baking oven, and hydronic boiler in one system, allowing you to cook and bake while producing hot water for a properly designed hydronic heating system.
The Hydro can be integrated with compatible radiant in-floor heat, hydronic baseboards, radiators, and other properly engineered hot-water heating systems.
💧 IMPORTANT — This Is a Hydronic Boiler
The Concept 2 Max Hydro is not a conventional cookstove that can be operated dry.
A water jacket surrounds the firebox and transfers heat from the fire into the hydronic system.
Water must be present and properly circulating through the boiler whenever a fire is burning.
- DO NOT operate the stove without water.
- A functioning circulation system is required during operation.
- Electricity is required to operate the circulation pump.
- Loss of circulation can cause overheating and damage to the appliance.
Your hydronic system must be properly installed and operational before lighting a fire in the cookstove.

⚠️ Professional Installation Required
A qualified professional familiar with solid-fuel hydronic boilers should design and install the hydronic portion of this system.
Proper installation may require circulation pumps, expansion provisions, temperature and pressure controls, safety devices, and other components appropriate to the system design.
A thermal safety discharge valve is required for the appropriate installation. Because the circulation pump requires electricity, the system should also be designed to safely manage a power outage or loss of circulation while a fire is burning.
Never install or operate this appliance without following the manufacturer's hydronic and safety requirements.
🌬️ No Outside-Air Intake
The Concept 2 Max Hydro does not have an outside-air intake connection. Adequate combustion air must therefore be available within the installation space.
